Mass monitor


Dekati Mass Monitor (DMM) is a real-time instrument for automotive particulate mass emission measurements, designed specially to meet the needs of the automotive industry.

Conventional PM measurements are based on particulate mass measurement with a gravimetrical filter, resulting only in a total, cumulative mass emission. Real-time data from DMM provides second-by-second information not only about particle total mass but also median diameter of particles, which are the two important parameters related to particle health effects. Also, mass measurement provides information that is comparable with existing data and with emission regulations. For example, this is not the case with a number of surface area measurement instruments.

An interactive user interface enables monitoring of total concentration and particle size distribution in several different modes. These modes include parallel real-time size distribution and total concentration monitoring even from several units at the same time in the same window. Instant and continuous feedback as a function of particle size makes the particle removal device development illustrative and more efficient. Since ELPI is a collecting device, it is possible to make subsequent chemical or gravimetric analysis on the collected, size classified samples.
